It is so delightful to greet the guests we are hosting at the door, only to be handed an unexpected gift. The joy in simply having people into my home is enough. But having an extra treasure placed into my hands is delicious. My Mom-in-law is an inspiration in this regard. She often comes with flowers or dessert. Both are most welcome. I want to be more thoughtful when I am hosted. This week, an opportunity came.I was inspired by my cousin's creative use of the plain paper bag. She folds and hole-punches and embellishes. Suddenly a plain and humble thing becomes a beautiful thing, so I created a very simple package of cookies to bring along with the recipe attached.
